Legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to data when you visit fpslabs.ai. It is deliberately short, because this website does very little with your data. It covers this website only. Our products, including the BAM app, are governed by their own policies.
Who we are
FPS Labs ("FPS Labs", "we", "us") is a technology lab building computer vision products for sport. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for this website.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@fpslabs.ai.
The short version
On this website we do not:
- set cookies, or read cookies you already have
- use advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking
- ask you to create an account or fill in any form
- build a profile of you, or try to identify you
- sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone
There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.
What we do collect
Two things, both of them limited.
Anonymous usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages people visit and roughly where our audience is in the world. It is cookieless: it does not store anything on your device and does not follow you to other websites. Vercel derives a temporary, non-reversible hash from the incoming request to distinguish one visit from another; that hash is discarded within 24 hours and cannot be used to identify you or to link your visits together across days. What we see is aggregate counts: page views, referrers, country, browser, device type. Never individual people.
Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records standard request logs when a page is served, including IP address, user agent, and the URL requested. These are used to operate the site, keep it secure, and debug faults. We do not use them for analytics or marketing, and they are held only for a short retention window by Vercel as part of the hosting service.
Legal basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in operating a secure website and understanding, in aggregate, whether it is useful. We have kept the data involved to the minimum this purpose requires, which is why the analytics are cookieless and anonymous. Because we set no cookies and store nothing on your device, no consent is required under the ePrivacy Directive or the PECR.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your data. The only third party involved in running this website is:
- Vercel Inc.: hosting, content delivery, and the analytics described above, acting as our processor. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
International transfers
Vercel operates a global content delivery network, so a request may be served from, and logged in, a country other than your own, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses within Vercel's data processing agreement.
How long we keep it
- Analytics: retained only in aggregated, anonymous form. The temporary visitor hash is discarded within 24 hours.
- Server logs: retained short-term by Vercel for operational and security purposes, then deleted.
- Email you send us: kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to maintain a record of our correspondence.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. If you are in the UK or the EEA these rights come from the GDPR; if you are in California, comparable rights come from the CCPA/CPRA, and note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.
In practice, this website holds no personal data that would let us find "your" record. That is by design. If you email us, we can of course action any request about that correspondence. Write to support@fpslabs.ai and we will respond within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you are entitled to complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Other sites we link to
This site links out to products and profiles that we do not control. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave fpslabs.ai, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
If we change what this website does with data, for example by adding a contact form, we will update this page and move the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the page.
